National Hot Chocolate Day. And it looks like the perfect day for hot chocolate as weāre getting more snow. Thereās about 2 inches of it out there so far (just past midnight) and theyāre predicting 4-6 inches before itās over. Iām supposed to be leaving for work in about 8 hours or so, but Iām not sure if Iām going. Itās still snowing and the wind is blowing and I drive on a lot of open country roads. Iāll see what it looks like when I get up in the morning, but what I really want to do is to call in and say Iām not going to work, then I can crawl back into bed for a couple more hours of sleep.
So, Iāve been playing the Microsoft Solitaire games for a couple years now, doing the daily challenges every day. They always have 5 different games (Klondike, Freecell, Pyramid, Tri-Peaks and Spider Solitaire. Each day, four of those games are easy or medium level and one is hard or expert. I have not often attempted the hard or expert ones of Spider or Freecell, but this month, I did them. And to my amazement, I actually solved EVERY puzzle for January except one game. Iāve never come close to doing that before! Look at this!
There was just one expert game of Freecell that I was never able to solve, despite NUMEROUS attempts. All I had to do was free up three fives. Hereās the game in case any of you want to attempt it with a deck of cards (or if you have the Microsoft Solitaire Collection feature on your computer ā itās the January 10th game). I give up! I just canāt solve this one!
! Yeah iād try It againāmaybe with more Fruit.. . .i doānt know if i could eat a that much Saladātrying to pump the Iron for a Blood-donation Tomorrow.
Just as an FYI. I woke up this morning ten minutes before the alarm was to go off and I looked out the window at the snow. It wasnāt coming down very hard, but I saw the street hadnāt been plowed well yet. I know they plowed once overnight because I heard the plow go by. But the road was still very snow covered. I looked at the flag on our downtown flagpole. The flag was pointing south, showing we had a stiff north wind. I drive an east to west road, so I know snow would be blowing across the highway. So, I made a phone call, reported I would NOT be going to work and I went back to bed. Now itās 10:51 AM, Iām well rested and safely in my house and I have all day to shovel the snow. The road has been plowed, but itās still snowing. Very tiny flakes, but theyāre saying weāll have flurries all afternoon. The flag is still pointing south so thereās still a stiff wind out there. Iām off now to do my front sidewalk. I trust our friendly plow man will do my driveway for me, so Iām not even going to do that.
I took Lady Bird out for a last walk of the evening. (8:30 pm) She can barely walk anymore, and it takes 10 minutes to get to the yard, and a bit longer to get back up the ramps to the porch, and back into the house. BUT!!! Tonight she saw a rabbit. She went into a beautiful point. Still as a statue. Then the rabbit ran, and she did too! An awkward run, but nevertheless a run. She is conked out now on her cooling mat (and it is not hot in here). I foresee her barely moving tomorrow.

Now I better go to bed. I have to get up early to call in to work and say I wonāt be there (unless I change my mind and go to work).

Looks like Mousie is going to be the main course. On another note, saw three finches, a raven, and two varied thrushes while out walking today.
