My wife was terrified of lightning. When she was something like 10 years old, a bolt hit the TV antenna (remember those?) outside her bedroom window. When I was asleep, sometimes it felt as if there was an anaconda wrapped around me. I’d wake up to find her holding me tight, then I heard a distant “boom” and knew the reason why. She was ass good as weather radar back then.

I love the automatic yes to the old saying, then the correction because there’s only one safe port for her.

Ships prefer sea room to ports for storms. If they’re smart, they maneuver away from hurricanes. Read the chapter on hurricanes in Bowditch’s sometime.

Don’t worry, Janis. You’re all where you need to be! :-D

Has anyone read anything as to how long Jimmy’s blog will be down?

My greenhouse kit was delivered during the last snowstorm and I’m in the middle of assembling it, so naturally “Winter Storm Watch” this week.

Well as long as Janis is going to be in port she might as well tie up to Arlo’s buoy mooring.

The trees in our neighborhood make way more and way weirder noise in the winter than in the summer when the leaves temper the effect.

It was a dark and stormy night…….

“And they call the wind Mariah” I’d say that the point of the strip is that Janis is plying snuggle bunny to grab some popcorn, and Arlo is having none of that!

Snuggling is always good.

Actually I think she is just trying to get Arlo’s popcorn!

The “no” is directed at Ludie who wants some of the goodies in the bowl.

Yup. It was 4 below zero outside our house last night in Mid-Michigan.
