In the military, they used to put the guy with the largest boot size by the door as the “jumpmaster”. This way if someone froze in the door he could “expedite” their exit.
To be pedantic. A rookie to skydiving would be in a tandem jump. That is, they would be attached to a more experienced jumper, who would pull the cord at the correct time.
Actually at that height, the sense of being up high is not there. Peering down from a really tall building is scarier. I loved it and never got nervous, but every time I went climbing, I got nervous. My wife loved it and my youngest daughter had to try it. She was all brave till just before jumping and the look on her face was priceless. She did it and loved it, but that 30 second indecision was priceless.

Not gonna lie: This is me. Only I’d be saying it while still on the ground.

That’s what I said the first time the jump master told me to jump! But then I did.

Such a small bundle. No need to kick her out.
Just pick up and tuck under arm.

I never jumped out of a perfectly good plane, but I did go out and weekly sink a perfectly good submarine.

Poor Sam. His crazy wife abandoned him to his fate.

She better jump…. Sam will hold that over her. She just needs some help….and a static line.

It’s what they say about paratroopers: someone smart enough to handle a parachute but dumb enough to jump out of an airplane.

Sedine, Sedine
Reluctant Queen
She does not care to jump.
Refuse to budge
Butt just one nudge
Shall land upon her rump.

Jump school does not care if you jump or not… they got your money either way… saves them money on repacking the chute.

Sedine’s sitting-down pose in the last panel is so adorable. how can you be mad at her?
