Girl’s team softball pitchers can deliver some serious heat.

And don’t forget, the pitcher must retaliate to protect his team.

I love watching girl fast pitch ballgames, especially D1 level.

25 years ago I was working a high school girls softball tournament. My older son – then around 10 years old and who was a terrific pitcher – offered a disparaging comment about how girls throw. I persuaded him to join me at the game, to watch. And it was the last time he said something harsh about girls’s athletics, truly seeing is believing.

Did she throw that ball with her ponytail?

Nothin’ like hittin’ a hardball on the handle in late March…

Mom was a fast pitch softball player. Cool!

Needed to have an old-fashioned wooden bat. Wonder if she can still hit 100+ mph on her fastballs? No matter, she still has enough heat to make a cold aluminum bat sting upon contact.

NOW, the mother is a PARENT THAT I REALLY APPRECIATE!

Playing through pain is all nice and good if you are making $$$/yr as a pro. As a kid, you aren’t going to know what’s pain you can work through, and what’s pain which is nature’s way of telling you to stop.

Next time use a wood bat when it’s cold.
