I really don’t like the mask Nazis. Is pulling down your mask at someone when they want to correct you on your placement and fit, the equivalent of mooning someone?
This is how I feel every time I go grocery shopping, but I don’t say anything out loud. locake is right. What I will do if I’m heading down an aisle and see an unmasked or halfmasked shopper is to quite pointedly turn around and go away from them.
I have mentioned poor masking to clerks with their noses hanging out, something along the line of “Opps, your mask is slipping, dear. Have you tried tightening the ear loops?” I’m old enough that most of the younger clerks take it as grandmotherly advice (or nagging).
I think that some people don’t cover their nose because they find it hard to breath through their mask. I see Dr. Fauci is shown all over the internet, double masked now.
Dear Cathy, don’t let perfect become the enemy of the good. We have no control over others masking up (or not), all we can do is protect ourselves and our loved ones. And, when the Covid vaccine is available to the general public, make an appointment to get it (and the booster shot a month later). The sooner we get vaccinated, the sooner we can build up a resistance to future variants. Besides, the best way to prevent viral variants (aka mutations) is to stop the virus from replicating in people’s bodies.
The rules keep changing. I do wish my doctor could at least move his beard holder up over his mouth, if not his nose. I did double mask to go to get my vaccine…there were a lot of people. Otherwise, I have managed to pretty much just stay away from people.
I wonder if people who don’t cover their noses know how stupid / selfish they look.
It’s like they’re saying “I’m too dumb to understand how to do a simple thing like wear a mask.” Or, “I don’t care if I’m exposing you to the virus, covering my nose makes ME uncomfortable and I am the only person I care about.”
If your nose is exposed, you might as well take the mask off. It’s there to block respiratory particles and has to cover your mouth AND nose.
And if you really can’t tolerate it, stay home and have your stuff delivered.

I would never comment to someone about their mask use or misuse. Too many people carry guns around here, in the U.S.

I’d call her Karen, but Karens usually run around without masks screaming about their “medical conditions.”

It’s amazing how many people believe that stupidity makes them invulnerable.

Yeah—some people can be a bit … O.C.D. … with the details of masks.
My perspective? Just Wear It.
