You’ve waited this late just leave it up for next year. It’s artificial after all.

Especially this year.

Might as well leave it up all year round. It’s March, you nerds!

Just put a dust cover on it ;-)

Should be on a special moving floor, push a button, the wall opens and tree hides behind, replacing wall with a book case

I leave the battery driven flashing lights on the window up until the batteries die. They are starting to get dim so soon.

i once left my Christmas tree up for 9 years

Family tradition was if a family member was on deployment when Christmas arrived, the decorations and the presents remained under the tree until the service person returned on leave or completed deployment. We had several Christmas celebrations in June.

Some things should not be rushed….

St Pat’s days the official end of the Christmas season.

We had a neighbor who kept his tree up all year at the request of his handicapped son. Besides Christmas, he’d decorate it for Easter, and Halloween.

I read about several people who always have an artificial pine tree up in their house. The decorations change to reflect the currant holiday, or whatever piques their fancy, in “non-holiday” months. Not for me. The tree & decorations go up starting on Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend & come down over New Years weekend…But, I’ve also read that people will hold Christmas in whatever month the soldier in the family comes home. Which I just looove!!!

Ours went up the day after Thanksgiving, and it’s still up.

I determined its more work to take it down than to put it up. My solution’s not to put it up in the first place. Zero effort versus 110 total effort.

We take the decorations off the tree on the day after 12th night and take the tree out sometime before President’s Day. The external decorations after the snow melts and the internal before St. Patty’s Day. Meh.

“Yes. Because in a few weeks it will be Easter.”

What I’ve never understood is how the Christmas decorations—which I gather up and put away in our official Christmas boxes in orderly fashion (books, cds, dvds, dishes, tablecloths, napkins, towels and sheets, table decor, candles, tree ornaments, lights, stockings, etc)—never end up being in their proper boxes the following year. I suspect the Elf on the Shelf.

Yuck.

I plugged in the lights a week before Christmas and unplugged them at the new year.

A problem caused by technology.. in days of old when the needles fell off it it was time.. now, it’s when you no longer can stand the dust.

Bah humbug. Avoid the first step and the second one looks after itself.

Mine is 3’ high & sits on the windowsill. I got as far as unplugging it & putting it in the spare bedroom. Might just leave it there as is till time to bring it out next Xmas.

I’m slow, but not that slow.…on the other hand a neighbor a few doors away not only still has there lights up, but turns them on every night so far

Mrs has a friend that leaves hers up till around June, no reason other than shear laziness. Ours goes up Thanksgiving weekend and comes down after Jan 9, Mrs is Orthodox, so we celebrate twice.

In my previous house there was an open room just off the main entrance. We used it as a seasonally decorated room and blocked it off with drapes when it was not in use. After a while it was just permanently Christmas. It saved time and the house was so big we didn’t need the space anyways. Now we live in a much more practically sized home.

I have never seen a year in which Christmas decorations were left up this long (my outside lights, included!)…I could be wrong (that’s happened, once, or twice in my life), but, I think this past year, we needed the spirit, and comfort those lights inspire, as never before.

Can’t wait to get ours put away after 1 January.
