I’ve been there. The beer mugs aren’t THAT big.

His wife told him nein beers but unfortunately he’s dyslexic.

Beer hall in Germany. Me solo after business meetings. Drinking with Germans that were seated at a long table. After a bit I am tipsy but all the folks at the table are many steins ahead of me. I get up leaving behind half a stein of beer but all the people at the table insist I finish my beer. I sang a few songs with them in mock German (I speak only english) and had yet another beer or two with them. What fun! Luckily I could walk to my hotel.

like the time i told the wife, i was shopping for a new bar. it didn’t end well…….

They make the gate narrow so no one walks off with the beer mugs…

I’ve always been impressed with the barmaids that carry eight huge beer steins in her hands at once. ( what a grip she must have ) Not to lessen the feat of carrying a tray with multiple beers .

Just go ahead and put a dress on if you’re going to let your wife tell you what to do…

Fest beers in Germany are normally served in full liters. The brewery’s bring trailers with 1000 liters at a time depending on the Fest. One of the things I loved about Germany was that every town worth it’s salt had their own fest and fest days which may or may not coincide with Munich’s.

Reminds me of Mark Twain and cigars: “I pledged myself to smoke but one cigar a day. I kept the cigar waiting until bedtime, then I had a luxurious time with it. But desire persecuted me every day and all day long. I found myself hunting for larger cigars…within the month my cigar had grown to such proportions that I could have used it as a crutch.”
