Last time I saw one of those was several years back when I went to see a Rays/Red Sox spring training down in Fort Myers where the vendors sold Hood ice cream with the wooden spoons. I tried one, pretty good ice cream while my wife and daughter opted for the ice cream sandwich with a flavor called green monster mint. Some of the snowbirds sitting near us told me Hood is the regional ice cream of New England. Anyhow, it reminded me of ice cream as a kid in FL from the ice cream truck or 7-11 being the cheapest option though I was more partial to a rocket pop which was also called a freedom pop in 1976….
Whoa! I’ve already played my “serious comment” card for today. However, I never knew anyone else felt that way about wooden paddle spoons! They absolutely set my teeth on edge! As do paper straws (no longer around)! Anyone else?
i haven’t thought about them in years. i remember now getting ice cream in a paper cup and using the wooden paddle spoon to eat it with; that has to be like 60-65 years ago.
Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth, Petey. Anyway, it’s pure speculation as to whether you’ll get the gift in the first place. Beni’s dad can’t feed everyone.

Petey would snivel if he were being hanged with an old rope!

Ah, the fly in the ointment (or the wooden paddle-spoon in the ice cream)!
But, Petey (My Hero), you do not bite the paddle-spoon; you suck or lick the ice cream off! —There’s your problem!
Still beats soccer, no matter what!

You’re not supposed to bite them, Petey.
