I’m not going to try to be coy. Replies to this post will be about the history of the strip. If that sort of thing doesn’t appeal to you, you don’t need to open the replies.
Hmm. Just as strips like Garfield and Luann have archival sites where those who appreciate the classic days of those strips can find what they like, perhaps it’s time (if there isn’t one already) for a Classic Gasoline Alley strip. That way, the archivists will be placated. Meanwhile, those of us who appreciate the present day adventures of this veteran group of characters can continue to do so without the specter of “It can never be as good as it was” in the air. I’m already a record collector. I get enough of that in those circles as it is.
Elsewhere in time, Frank King has Siegel & Shuster beat by some 17 years.
Skeex needs to quit being such a perfect gentleman, you don’t have to shoulder the load every single time for a lady, they can take care of themselves! No doubt word of this dining out will get back to Nina, perhaps an annoying photog for the Detropolis Free Press getting a pic of “the star” and the new scenery draped on her arm?
And oops, it looks like Judy’s going to have to go back to the donut shop to get Adam and Eve’s birthday gifts. Darn all the luck!
At least it looks like Hope is happy to get a treat ; )
