Governing?

Republicans (the Party Of Trump) don’t do governing.

They do corruption, treason, gerrymandering, voter suppression, racism, obstruction, power grabbing.

These days, they are just more honest about it than before.

I wonder why Prickly City hasn’t poked at the current administration’s incompetence yet?

This ‘comic’ strip is a consistently unfunny statement of the obvious and a tiresome discussion of Stantis’s own conservative angst. Terrible.

I’m gonna say this is the human condition, nothing to do with the politics. It’s where you put your emotions that matters.

Sigh. Looks like we’re in for another steaming load of “Both sides are equally bad, as long as I don’t look at the actual effects of their policies.”

I think Carmen’s dilemma is one many thoughtful conservatives are experiencing (yes, Virginia, there are some thoughtful conservatives out there), just are there are some thoughtful liberals. Neither conservatism nor liberalism is “bad” in and of itself. It’s the extremists on both sides that are the problem.

Can someone, please, tell me when our country ceased being a “Republic” and became a “Democracy”? Also when did “Military Style Firearms” become “Assault Rifles”? Thank you my friends.

Interesting article about debate between Artificial Intelligence and humans. Spoiler: AI excels at marshaling a rational argument. Humans, OTOH, are much, much superior at generating BS. And, surprise!, it turns out many, many humans find the BS much more persuasive. Which explains the popularity of trump, a world-class BS-er.

“Government should be more facts than emotions.”

“Should be” as distinct from “is,” Heart.

Carmen knows what’s going on just fine.

Science and emotion are NOT mutually exclusive. The best solutions combine both. There are exceptions however, there is no such thing as a compassionate atom bomb.

“Heart” makes an excellent point. Facts have played a very small role in political policy and governing the last few decades.
