    has info and links that point to more info about this painting.

     

    It is actually by the French artist Jacques Jean Raoul Jourdan (1880 - 1916). Since he died in 1916, I changed the date to before 1916. I couldn’t find any online information about him other than his life span. Maybe those who speak French can. First work by him, or the artist Mr. Melcher attributed it to, used here.

    I have measured out my life with sets of curls/ (as a lad, I thought that might impress the girls)/ but the girls (I quickly learned)/ were impressed by what men earned/ and cared little for the poor but muscled churls..
