What do you do if the wind blows in the opposite direction, tortoise?

I would think for a tail wind, a square sail or a spinnacker to be more appropriate, huh?

Super. While you’re on the beach John, pull in your legs and dune-surf. Your tail could act as a rudder and brake! :D

Even though his feet move you can’t see his tail wag one inch. So how can he expect his little tail to generate some wind?

Try tacking like land yachting folks, but too close to the wind is dangerous and may well tip you over.

Of course with a headwind, tacking is plain murder
