I like how Hobbes says “Let me see your bat for a minute” with a pleasant smile on his face!

In the next cel, Dad is once again saying Calvin! What’s all that noise?!

Calvin? Where did he go? He was just here.

Another one that made me laugh out loud. The bad news was I was in bed and my wife was asleep. That woman has no sense of humor.

I remember this from years ago. It was one of my favourites.I’m just imagining Hobbes with the bat now, getting in his own swings at Calvin.

Is that sniggering I hear from under the bed?

Dad should have confiscated Calvin’s bat!

There is a fine line between revenge and justice. I’m thinking Hobbes doesn’t much care about lines. He has stripes.

I’ve just been reading a “Calvin and Hobbes grown up” website which includes some “Hobbes and Bacon” strips. One of them shows a grown-up Calvin and Susie with their daughter Bacon but no appearance by Hobbes. It shows that Calvin’s alter ego Spaceman Spiff is still a child when joined by the real Calvin’s daughter Bacon (or her alter ego who is unnamed).

At least an upside to the sabbatical period here is that how after going from the strip’s end in 1995 back to early 1986 in early 2016, we did not see the 1985 strips here until now!

Calvin is bat-$h!t crazy, sometimes.

“Let me see your bat a minute.” That’s a statement rich with portent!

Careful, Calvin. Hobbes might’ve made a deal with the monster under your bed!
