Unless some of those miles were “earned” without taking steps, I would say that his step-counting app is not working properly. With those numbers, it comes to just a little over 6 miles per step.
Reverse the numbers and get about 6 steps per mile. That would seem more “reasonable”.
In the summer when it is hot and humid, I come back from my walk and sit in front of a box fan while I read my morning comics, to “sweat down” and dry off.
My wrists are one of the places I sweat and in particular under the band to my fitbit. So one day I took it off and put it on top of the fan. By the time I finished reading, I had gotten 10,000 steps.
