The last few months have the potential to be a turning point for the country because of what is happening inside the Republican Party. In more than 10 states, including Texas, Florida, Georgia and Arizona, Republican lawmakers have responded to Trump’s defeat by moving to make voting more difficult. A few states have also given state legislators more power over election administrators, potentially making it easier for politicians to reject an election’s result. Could all of these moves come to little, much as Trump’s postelection flailing did? Yes, that’s one possible outcome. But it is not the only one.
Given the events of the previous four years, hearing a conservative say “We are here to serve each other” brings up uneasy recollections of the Twilight Zone episode To Serve Man (1962) or the movie Soylent Green (1973).

So I agree with Carmen that the answer may be simpler than we think it is, but I don’t think it’s as simple as Carmen thinks it is…
Six months ago most of the commenters here wouldn’t give Representive Chaney a bottle of water if she was waiting in line to vote, in fact most would have automatically disliked her just because of her name. To day she is everyones darling.
If you try to make things nicer when you leave than when you got there, at least there’s a chance things will be nicer when you leave than when you got there.
