This is a reference post so people who choose to read about and discuss the history of Gasoline Alley can put their comments in replies. Those who don’t can bypass the discussion by leaving the replies closed. Fair for everyone, I think.

Joel, they’ll just keep calling until you answer.

If he’s picking up a radio broadcast, then that’s a terribly boring script, just repeating “Come in Earth!” like that there.

Why Jim wants to continue to emphasize Joel and Rufus is beyond me. When there are so many other characters growing up and getting older. Once upon a time these characters very sparsely and rare occassions now theyve taken over the strip. When is Jim goimg to retire?

Nothing like scrolling down to find some good comments on this story arc, as I have on numerous occasions in the past, and finding the featured comment is—IMHO—a daily spamming comment about the comic strip in the past. I do not object to the comment itself, but must it be the featured comment day in and day out?? To me that makes it as noxious as spam itself. I wonder what kind of bribe was put forth to insure this spam is in the featured comment position. And yes, I could just open all the comments, but the featured is usually the best comment on the day’s strip…or at least it is in the vast majority of other comic strips. And yes, I am a cranky senior citizen who probably read Gasoline Alley back when you were a spark in your father’s eye.
