Well, now there is an invention never made. A toe operated TV remote. We can change channels and adjust the volume while holding a cigarette and a beer. Genius. Now that I think of it, my Mom had a toe operated remote. She just nudged me with her foot and told me to turn the channel.
I just heard a report last night that there is now a robotic thumb, positioned on the opposite side of the hand from the real thumb, that is operated by the toe. Since I have bad arthritis in my thumbs, I might look into that more.
