As I notice a fly that I want to swat, I start thinking of something truly despicable that only a fly would like, but which a fly would like greatly, promising to deliver the said abomination to the fly right away on a plate. I think the fly must be able to read my minds, because most often the fly, anticipating the feast to follow, doesn’t budge off of its spot before I return with a fly swatter and whack it.

I let the Supervisory Cat In Charge of Everything chase it until it is tired and at a door. Open the door and let it out. Usually a bird swoops in and gets the exhausted fly,

They aren’t that tough, Poncho. They’re flyweights.
