Things haven’t really changed that much, although they are a bit more technical now. People have apps on their phone so they can look up the weather instead of looking out the window. Sometimes they can’t even be bothered to open an app, but just ask their phone what the weather is like.
Is it going to snow 2 inches or 6 inches? When is it going to stop snowing? Will it snow still be around tomorrow? Will there be more snow the day after that? Looking out the window isn’t going to answer any of these questions.

Must be the weather control Zeus satellite doing this. Ordinarily the Earth is too hot for ice and snow.
