Oh, by the way, after the incident with my old water heater not venting properly and the threat that it could have caused my basement and even the house to fill with carbon monoxide, I have bought 3 new carbon monoxide detectors. I only had one before – in my living room. Now I can have 2 downstairs and 2 upstairs and I should be safe.
Off topic but it’s graduation time and here’s what happened on Wed night. For some reason, and this was a first, the principal anticipated some trouble the night before graduation, which was yesterday. He asked the custodians to split up the night so the football field would be covered all night. Four of them volunteered. All of the gates around the football field were locked. The stage had been set up, the sound system was ready to go. The seating on the field was done. The lead custodian took the first shift.1. Around 11:30, he heard male voices, then saw two jump the fence, run to the stage and start messing with the sound system. He ran them off.2. Not too long after that, he heard female voices, then saw two naked girls streak down the entire length of the field. He chased them but they got over the fence and behind a bunch of cars before he could get to them. Then he heard a car leave. I think it was good that he DIDN’T catch them…what was he going to do with 2 naked teenage girls?3. The next shift started. Again, male voices. (all of these people must have been parking on the other side of Ace Hardware then walking to the field) He saw some teenagers jump the fence and called HPD which is like a minute away. They were caught.4. Then it was the third shift. Nothing happened until Brad joined her at 2:30. They were sitting in the bleachers and saw some male adults jump the fence and head toward the stage. They called HPD. The officer caught them. It was time for Shelly to leave.5. Not too long after that, Brad saw a guy drive up, throw some signs over the fence then jump the fence. Brad ran over to find out what he was doing. It seems some people hired a sign maker to make signs like CONGRATULATIONS, JENNY and such. He was doing all of the high schools. He’d cleared it with the secretary, who failed to tell the custodians. Brad unlocked the gate, had him drivein, do his thing then drive out. By then it was around 6AM.
Nasty weather today! It’s only 46°, it’s been raining and there’s a strong, very cold north wind. The rain is good for the garden, but the cold is nasty! I went out to look at my garden today and I saw corn and green beans and a few squash plants just starting to come up. I had planned on putting my tomato plants in the garden today, but it’s too cold. I’ll wait another week to do that.
We had .15" of rain yesterday after 8 days with no rain. It wasn’t much, but was enough for my summer squash seeds to break through the ground! And yes I had been watering their area. But they just wanted the real thing.
Can’t say I blame that lady. Who can resist such a sweet kitty like Oliver? Still, I hope Annie gets him back. On another note, saw an opossum, eight robins, and a rabbit while out walking today.

Find a nice home for Ches and Jack. They’ll run right back, and they can be sold over and over again.

Today is:
National Grape Popsicle Day. And I don’t have any popsicles in my freezer!
Sunscreen Protection Day. I guess I ought to use some since I do plan on getting out in the garden in the afternoon.
National Cellophane Tape Day
