I like the idea of doing what it takes to be productive … without being productive.

I’d rather be healthy, wealthy and wise.

    Do right, use your head

    Everybody must be fed

    Get together, break your bread

Yes, together, that’s what I said

    Do what you like

    Don’t fight, use your head

    It’s all right every night

Do what you like, that’s what I said

    Everybody must be fed

    Do what you like

    Open your eyes

    Realize you’re not dead

Take a look at an open book

Do what you like, that’s what I said

    Do what you like

    Blind Faith.

It always bothers me that we call your job what you ARE instead of what you DO (and do during the day, specifically). It might make sense if you’re pursuing your life’s dream or something, but for most people, their job is just what pays the bills.

It’s ideal if you can do what you be; but some seem to be what they do.

Do things that become good stories later in life.

Ironically, in the case of cartoon and comic strip characters, NONE ever grow up. I mean, how long has Nancy been 8 years old?

The lad has a dream. But experience shows us what it will take to get there.

Happy has to be the most important. I have had money and not didn’t matter when I was happy. Unhappy with any combination is still misery.

    Magazine cartoon from the ’30s.

Two kids in a slum and one says, “What do you want to be if you grow up?”

Almost all the things that can make me healthy and happy have no productive value at all. :-)

And So It Goes  about 3 years ago

I’m 75 and from the time I was a young lad I’ve never been able to answer the question “What do you want to be”. Throughout my life I have changed occupations many times trying to find the answer. 13 years ago the answer finally came to me. I didn’t want to do what others thought I should do. I wanted to do ever I wanted to do. I’m now busier and more contented than ever.

I wish I would have thought of that while I was eating those triple patty, double bacon onion ring gutbombs all those many moons ago.

I know someone who wore a wedding dress to school on career day. When it was her turn she said she wanted to be a wife.

I saw something on TV a while back where some little kid said when he grows up he wants to be a vampire bat.
