I guess he failed math. 8 hours of sleep is only 1/3rd of a 24 hr day. Staying awake the whole summer (not possible) would only be 50% more awake time. so 1-1/2 summers instead of one.
Assuming the kid doesn’t sleep 12 hours a day of course.

Well, for Dexter, who usually sleeps during class anyway, staying awake at night and sleeping during the day should work just fine.
