    Them Brits sure like a good bacon butty (as well as a chip butty; both pretty good by my U.S. standards when I’ve made an attempt to make them).

    @Number Three Today’s strip IS funny but a repeat Flo is going to starve our HERO Mr Andrew Capp burning most of what she cooks him , no wonder the little sot goes off to the pub, my avatar again is my birth sign Leo roaring his head off with frustration like I am , another sleepless night of tropical heat with yet another power outage , my CCTV cams are not showing up on my monitor and Alex is away on our sister island across the sea Gozo till Monday and can’t come and adjust them , one of the downstairs bathroom flourecent tubes has conked out and Connie is going with Silvana to the hairdresser’s leaving me on me own :o{ how was your day ? our Finally Friday should be hectic but we shall cope I hope and maybe by the afternoon things should have settled down enough and I can have my (unburnt) fav nosh keep safe and thanks for caring Young Lady

    Now, now Andy. Be a gentleman and take your cap off at the table. And as for the food, keep up that stiff British upper lip.

    Agus nuair a bhios tu deiseil, falbh agus faigh lionn no dhà.

    It’s not burnt, it’s “blackened.”

    Goldilocks – it’s to hot – it’s to cold – it’s just right. Take ya pick Andy. No more dining at Alf Potts Saloon. He’s well done also.

    @Number Three To quote the immortal Bard , all’s well that ends well while Connie hd to go to the hairdresser I had my hairdresser come to me, it was my eldest son Arthur who gave me a much needed haircut and then fixed the downstairs bathroom light, now I am in a good mood and my fav nosh included a serving of Vanilla :o)/ Nutella ice cream

    Forget the toast, I’ve long maintained ( Gordon Ramsey aside ) that most U.K. cooks could ruin the best piece of beef that ever came off the cow!

    Scotland raises some of the best beef cattle in the world, but you wouldn’t know it by how it’s overcooked in the U.K.

    I’ll have it. I love burnt toast! The thing is though, I always need a drink nearby. Tea is perfect. But I thank my stars for my mini fridge too.

    I know I sound like a stereotypical Brit when it comes to tea. But let me tell you this, I hate scones.

    @Afficionado

    That sounds like hell. Sorry to hear some things are going wrong.

    Is Alex over there for business or a little holiday? Malta has been added to the “Green List” when it comes to travelling from the UK by the way. So I shall see you soon. Haha.

    Do you have your favourite nosh for lunch or is it your evening meal? Your second comment sounded like you already had it. Fun Fact: I have my favourite nosh on Tuesdays and Fridays. It’s a little bit of an odd combination but I find it delicious and tasty which is all that matters. It’s still food and food keeps you alive.

    Well, I’m here until the turnover and then off for the weekend. Thanks so much for letting me have your email address, pal. When I’m taking time off commenting again (barring the weekends) I will email you so you don’t worry.

    Oh by the way, I didn’t go to bingo today. It was windy and rainy and I just wanted to stay in bed. We’ll see about next week.

    Stay safe, stay well and stay happy. See you after the weekend.

    She is so good looking that I would be willing to forgive the burnt toast. Maybe not the burnt bacon.

    At least the burnt toast was served with bacon instead of a rotten egg. (In one Three Stooges film, Moe orders burnt toast and a rotten egg, stating “I’ve got a tapeworm, and that’s good enough for it.” )
