Serrif already has the “divination” by the look of it.

Hmmm, wondering what definition of divination they’re using. It usually means “seeing the future” (as dave1960 pointed out) rather than “placing you in a mummy-like state of suspended animation” (and, may I point out, mummies aren’t in suspended animation – except in bad horror movies – they’re dead). Maybe he means “trance”, but wanted to use more words, even if they don’t make sense.

Now there’s a fine example of foreshadowing!

“Yes, yes, Serrif,” replied Chiram, “The stone is evil. But it is also said to reverse the most severe cases of male pattern baldness. So, the risk is well worth it – anything to help me be rid of this ridiculous hairdo.”

What do divination and suspended animation have to do with each other?

Yes, let the boogeyman come and befall evil Chiram, Serrif and Wolfie (if he should survive long enough), but leave lethal Letha alone!

It would be a useful weapon. You could stop an army in its tracks without harming a sole soul.
