Fun fact about bikinis (you may have heard this before):

The name “bikini” actually has nothing to do with it being a two-piece swimsuit, despite seemingly having the bi- prefix. It comes from the Bikini Atoll, where nuclear weapons were tested, because of the metaphorically explosive nature of the garment.

Bikini is a version of the Marshallese word “pikinni”, which means “coconut place”, by the way.

As for the golden parade, I’m afraid the drawings don’t do it justice, but you can see photos here: https://www.the-sun.com/news/2635156/pharaohs-golden-parade-cairo-mummies/

Is Louis Reard the guy sitting there thinking “My God, this is the stupidest thing I have ever build in my entire life?” Because those the the vibes I’m getting from him.

I was pleased to see several folks follow my lead on Tom Swifties last night. Tonight I’m following Silver’s lead into golf with the following duffer’s story…

Two men found themselves paired on a golf course. The first man opened a can of balls, took one out, placed it on the tee, and proceeded to clobber it hopelessly into the rough. Undaunted, he took out another brand-new ball, and achieved the same result.

His partner commented, “The way you’re golfing today, you should use an old ball.”

The first man replied, “I never had an old ball!”

Who’d have thought that condors were such unruly guests? Definitely crossing them off the Invite List!

Looks like a presidential parade in any modern country, except with antique vehicle styles.

The vultures thing is interesting. 2021 isn’t an election year, is it?

He modeled a suit and a body style that improved it. Both were great additions to the surf line. Since then the suits have shrunk to floss while the body styles have bloomed into acres of sunburn. It is definitive proof that bigger is not always better.

And the Fairies Golden Parade now guides your nuclear weapons.

Take care, may famed dresser carpenter Todie O’Myord be with you, and gesundheit.

I read recently that Réard hired a stripper to model the first bikini because regular models found it too daring to wear in public. A string bikini in 1946 would have been illegal on some beaches, I should think.

Does anyone bother to write or read comments about the comic subject matter? I did not think so.

The popularity of the bikini got off to a slow start due to the armless condition of the poor model. Wait! Is that some pubic hair creeping up from the bottom?? Invent some bikini wax!

3 nots – just because – bra and panty made out of colorful material and then worn in public makes an unveiling? 15 to 20(again with the guesses) Condors with wingspans up to almost 10 feet – that must have been one huge porch. puzzling the treatment and cost expenditure for mummies versus live people.

    THANK YOU Louis Réard!

Worse, the condors were not social distancing nor wearing masks.

    The pharaohs were.

On the condor item, by the time they were done wreaking havoc, was the species further endangered by a count of 15-20?

Simon and Garfunkel song “El Condor Pasa” (The Condor Passes) didn’t apply in this case. They stopped and made a big mess instead of just passing by.
