If Susie doesn’t get into graduate school, she can get a job as an enforcer.
For 25 cents…..she will beat you up…..Mandrake.
You deserve it, Calvin.
The rare case of truth in advertising.
Now what would you do with a girl’s 25 cents, young man?
If you can drop that broad, Wall Street is this way son.
That trick wasn’t worth a penny. Susie getting back at you however…
Hey, getting rid of Calvin for only a quarter sounds like a deal to me.
Flirting again…….
I learned that lesson from my slightly older brother when he was about 6 and I was 5.
Susie ought to know by now that all of Calvin’s tricks are dirty ones.;D
He’ll be a great hedge fund manager.
Then there came a deep, booming voice and it said “Calvin. You will never defeat her. Stop trying.” Of course, he ignored it.
That kid IS magic! He took a sweet little girl and turned her into a rage monster!!!
You’d think Susie would have known better than to give Calvin a quarter in the first place?
Ahh Suzie… your gentle loving side is coming out…
Like almost every girl out there, Cal, Suzie gives no quarter!
To put in perspective because of inflation, a quarter in 1986 dollars is the same value as $25.37 in today’s funds.
You didn’t disappear fast enough, Calvin!
Susie offers no quarter.
The end of innocence and the beginning of discord.
It was a good trick. You just weren’t fast enough to pull it off.
Looks like Calvin may need a visit from the tooth fairy, by the time Susie is done with him.
Where he went wrong was signalling his intentions. To make it on Wall Street, or in a Fortune 500 company, you need to be able to conceal them.
Much like Calvin, his magic tricks are short in magic and tricks.
Calvin tries to steal the show.
‘Calvin’, knowing ‘Susie’ as well as he does should have forseen the outcome ! ! ! !
Well, Calvin, you messed around and found out, didn’t you?
Pretty quick “Return on Investment” there, Susie…
Gotta be a lot trickier than that to beat Susie out of a quarter.
Susie is an early Feminist…Possibly a Prototype Femen.
Give him a sharp one, up aside his head. Then say, “O.K., now you can keep the quarter, it was worth it.”
Now for Susie’s trick: Make him see stars in the daytime!
Moe does the the same thing for 50¢.
Love Calvin’s pose in the third panel. He’s like Snagglepuss about to exit stage left!
Showing someone a trick, and playing a trick on someone, are NOT the same thing Calvin.
I didn’t know that little six year olds were that violent.
She got the trick, now it’s time for the treat.
He has you, Suzy. He did tell you it was a trick. He didn’t say it would be enjoyable.
She needs to play defensive end. She got her quarterback
You gave him a quarter to trick you and are unhappy that he tricked you?
[Insert obvious joke about Calvin’s future in politics here.]
This could have been titled “How to turn a quarter into a bludgeoning!”. That was the ‘trick’ Calvin really created.
