Wizard of Id by Parker and Hart for July 04, 2021

Looks can be deceiving? As he said “I’m ready.”, his look made it appear he meant “I’m ready for evil.” Maybe it’s part of his process. Thank you Wiz for bringing the “sparkle”.

Ironic that today’s strip parallels America’s Independence Day with Id celebrating a national day under the rule of a tyrannical king.

The King of Id is reminiscent of English kings before the Magna Carta in 1215 never mind the English Civil War in the 1640s and the Glorious Revolution of 1688. The seventeenth century was a good time for English rebellion against tyrannical kings.

17th century England was a very tumultuous time. By 1700 the upper classes regained control, but that only temporarily calmed things down.

It reminds me of Mickey Mouse as “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” in Fantasia.

It’s good that castles are made of stone, or Wizard would have burned it to the ground long ago.
