Back to the bench, Arlo!

PTLD, post traumatic lunch disorder. Arlo couldn’t get the orders right during the lunch rush.

He laughed when they said it couldn’t be done; with a smile, he got right to it. He tackled that thing that couldn’t be done…and couldn’t do it.

I don’t like that this story arc has become just another floundering incompetent male.

Janis, the restaurant is fine, stay with Arlo.

Arlo is probably better at the morning prep work, bussing tables, evening clean up, and analyzing the business side. Not crunch time cooking and plating.

Arlo needs a much needed nap

When I was in my 20’s I was a line cook GOD! Now in my 60’s I’m better off doing banquets and prep work.

Poor Arlo’s a little shellshocked.

Arlo is just another older weekend warrior. Too much time at whatever job he is doing sitting in front of a computer typing reports and realizing that he, on Saturday afternoon, he can no longer take a football tackle from his young adult son.

Knowing your limits helps you and others around you.

Many don’t realize how physically demanding work in a commercial kitchen can be. Even though I had the experience and skills that 40 years in the industry had given me, I found that as I approached my mid 60’s I was unable to keep up the pace. Arlo is going in cold and shouldn’t be beating himself up, being a good cook at home is miles away from dealing with demands of a restaurant.

Nobody under the age of 50 would understand…

Arlo is tired and isn’t about to display “false bravado.”

I would say that Janis’ daily exercise regimen is showing.

The “call back” is a staple in a good comic set, and even if it’s been over 10 years today’s revisits 2010.01.07.

I thought A&J lived some considerably distance from the diner. ?

Poor Arlo; he’s traumatized by the pace!

Someone should bring him to the hospital. This is stroke material. I should know.

I think there’s something wrong with Arlo, health-wise.

Put Arlo on salads. Still important enough to be of real assistance, but a lot less pressure.

I don’t like your comments dadad

Floundering incompetent males , they are included in many ads,comics, stand up comedies. Mainstream media has turned against the Parental figure and that’s not good for the family institution. I just turned 62 last february and during most of my lifetime us men were respected, just not sure what the future holds for my two grandsons.

Poor Arlo, just can’t keep up with the busy business.

Better than a floundering competent male.

Janis looks pretty concerned about that…
