I remember being asked about how I felt about conquering Afghanistan at the time. I said I was as proud as Italians must have been when Italy conquered Ethiopia.
Except for one or two signs, could just as well depict the anti-Vietnam-War marches I attended in my early 20s. (I made it to the anti-Afghanistan and anti-Iraq ones too, later on.)
Ah… lovely protests. I do love that US citizens can protest anything they want.
Sadly, now that we are out of Afghanistan and those that ruled before we arrived are back, girls are banned from school (or any activity, really), female judges are being hunted by those they convicted as the new rulers released all prisoners and life is back to repression and horror… especially for women.
But we are out and that’s no longer our concern as we decided what happens in other countries don’t matter to us anymore.

The eye-in-the-sky guys were always there, in every city. What did they fear?
i took to photographing them with a long lense. Turnabout is fair play. i was watching the watchmen.

I hadn’t heard “Axis of Weasels.” That’s brilliant.
