The boss should always know the names of people who report to him, otherwise how would he know which one to tell HR to fire.

I work with people whose names I can never remember because I don’t care enough about them to remember their names that I will often give nicknames to that I will remember.

“That’s okay. I’ve seen you say it to the guy, that idiot, in the mirror, too.”

One time the owner of the shop where I worked called me boy. I’m not black, but it didn’t sit very well with me.

Had a boss who liked to make up derogatory nicknames for employees. He had a common name, such as Don Smith (not really – I’m not using his real name, but the same initials). Then we got a new company President who also had the name “Don Smith”…

We started calling that boss “ODS” and told him it was to avoid confusion – and to remind everybody that he was the Original Don Smith… he loved it, and never learned of the word “odious”…

Well, he must be one if he keeps working there and puts up with that kind of mental abuse!

Once had a foreman whom played that tune. He got canned. Saw him in a bay, he said, “Hey, Tom, how’s it going?” I said, “And whom are you, again?”.
