Better watch your big mouth, Calvin, or Hobbes will stuff you in his bigger mouth.

Well, at least we know that Hobbes can’t sleep!

Calvin, they didn’t send you to bed early because you need the rest. They sent you to bed early because they need the rest.

My wife actually did this to me the other night…the “no” part, that is.

At least Calvin now knows that Hobbes is sleepy.

The tiger side of his personality comes out.

Ah, those summer nights when it was still light at 9 PM and we were in bed…and no worries about what LBJ was doing about Vietnam….zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

“Hardly dark out”? He should be glad he doesn’t live in Iceland, where it doesn’t get dark at all of at least 2 months every summer. Of course, if he wants to go to bed when it’s dark, that would mean going to bed at 3:30 PM in December.

Hobbes really does have the patience of Job, but thank goodness for school days.

Calvin: Boy, what a grouch!

I sense a bit of tension here. Never mind I’ll just eat my crackers and listen to the radio over here. You just go on to sleep.

Being a fragile sleeper myself, I totally sympathize with the Hobbmeister.

I don’t think I would sleep very well next to a grumpy tiger!

We recently had my grandmother stay over, and I had to share my room with her for a week. Boy, do I feel Hobbes in this one.

I guess that’s a definIte NO.

Stuffed tigers can be so touchy!

Of course Calvin doesn’t realize that kids require a lot more sleep than adults. I love how Hobbes appears to be asleep in the first panel… until the end!
