Grew up in Clarkston in the late 60s and early 70s. I too always test chairs first.
I don’t see a problem with him getting out of that chair. The problem i see is will the chair hold him and not break.
I’m getting to that point – but not because of strength issues. If the chair doesn’t have proper handrests, it’s a chore to stand up again.
I’d be out of that chair easily. It isn’t comfy enough for extended periods of rest.;-D
Why would he want to sit on a chair that small?
Put the Adirondack chair near the top of the list !
Try doing it with only 1 leg. Took me a lot of practice.
The chair doesn’t appears like it can bear him.
And I’m intrigued whether the Cat Plugger Guy likes to sits on chairs or inside boxes.
Rigid chairs are no problem, it’s the deep over-stuffed chairs that trap me. Got to wiggle my way up to the edge and then almost stand on my head to get up.
My wife has a friend who is on the skinny side, as is her husband. The chairs at their house are all antiques and rather fragile.
The chair I see him having a problem with is the one in front of the TV ! ! ! !
If my legs bend past 90° I’m in trouble.
The bigger issue is bar stools and getting on to them.
or looks like it might break…..
That’s alarming. Hate to be that guy but it’s well worth investing in maintaining leg strength.
I have that problem with my sister’s sofa.
