I was once asked why America was the greatest country in all time. I didn’t know. They said it was because for the FIRST time in all of human history the USA had the capability to take over the whole world. That was at the end of WWII when we had the atomic bomb. No one could stop us. And, we walked away. We didn’t do that. Now, during all of time, countries did try that. Babylon, Rome, Spain, Great Britton, etc. But, that all eventually failed. We could have and did not.

You forgot the parts about slavery and genocide. No big deal.

And while we’re at it let’s sack our Christian brethren in Constantinople.

I’m hoping as more women lead the world’s armies, I mean countries, that the reduction in testosterone might reduce the need to conquer and pillage. I’m hoping. I’m also hoping our increasing levels of education might bring more of us to believe in shared well-being as the winning economic strategy. … One can hope, but competitive DNA still tends to win in the end. sigh
