It always pays to do your own research, rather than take every story at face value.

We have tons of bats and see them most evenings around dusk. We put up a bat house five years ago. It finally fell down, unused and broke into pieces.

Of course, this year our dobie finds a little bat in the backyard. Typical doberman, he picked it up so gently by the wing and put it down in front of me, completely uninjured (jaws of steel but oh so gentle:—)

I don’t know where he lives but he apparently hated our bat house. Lol!

We have a large pond in our front yard, and when I go out to throw bread to the fish and snappers, there are always little brown bats swirling around. In spite of all the water, we don’t have many mosquitoes.

Bats are very important, just like Bees they are pollinators.

Shouldn’t a robin be in the picture, too?

Some do have rabies though. A friend of mine just went through shots after being bitten.

I wouldn’t take his word for it, he already lied about being a chef.

Just so it isn’t one of the entities of the dark Fey that wander about the neighborhood we see from time-to-time.
