I’m not a college graduate, but I’ve had several work for me.

And then he can become a fireman or an astronaut or a cowboy or . . .

Best to remain in college. A good education will carry you farther than any sports career ever did.

how did he even get into college?

Maybe he can go to college online.

Quitting college? He’s only been going for forty years!

I realize I’ve said this before, but…Raising kids is like the drive through at MacDonald’s—there’s a pretty good chance you won’t get what you wanted!

Compared to anything else you would do between 18 and 22, the percentages say a college degree will take you farther. There will always be outliers. I knew any breaks or luck would never be in my future. So I went to college.

And where do you plan on living after you quit college? Rent for your room will be quite steep.

I’m not sure a college degree is worth it anymore. My advice is technical schools and certificate programs or trade programs. Note also that a number of these technical schools work in conjunction with universities and credits from them count as university credits should you decide to continue your education.

Just this morning I was listening to a piece on how there’s a shortage of drivers of gasoline delivery trucks. They’re raising the salary and people still don’t want to do it. (Or anything else, lately, it seems.)

With my job, you MUST be a university grad, and I never hire anyone who isn’t.

College isn’t for everyone. And there’s no guarantee that a college degree will equal financial success. A lot of jobs DO require it, but many don’t—any many of those that do won’t make you rich.

Bottom line is: you’ve got to define success for yourself, and not let society, or parents, define it for you.

Good idea, son. You do that, right after you find a job, and an apartment!!!!

It better be in a base league while he is serving a stint in the Military if it’s going to do him any good. Remind him also of his obligation now to pay for room and board since he won’t be going to school….

Go to a trade school. You’ll learn useful skills, pay a lot less, and can get a job when you get out.

How did Norm ever get into college, or survive for that matter.

I hate to say it, but quitting college might the smartest thing he does. Talk about an oxymoron.

On the other hand, I don’t understand why he would join a softball league, as mush as he strikes out.

Smart to stop wasting money… now require that he get a job and start paying for his board and room.

Golly, fifty percent of folks have an IQ of less than one hundred. Doh!

I would suggest a Tech School, but I think a softball league is more Norm’s speed. Plus I would be slightly concerned about the other tech student’s welfare.

Well, they are the enablers. A job was really important before, it’s essential now.
