R.I.P., Monarch butterfly. We barely knew you, but were touched by your existence.

Good ol’ Scratch…he needs to get back to hosting his cable news show

nature is absolutely beautiful but it doesn’t care one tiny bit about our feelings. Nature as gorgeous as it is, is brutal.

We caught 2 moths in the house and turned them loose outside last night

Inside the house our cats would have hunted them all night, made a lot of noise, and trashed the house

Outside we saw a praying mantis by the porch light, the moths might still have got eaten but they had a chance

Friend was at an uncle’s funeral. An aunt said “Doesn’t he look natural?” (As one does). Friend’s dad says “Looks dead to me.” Aunt nearly passed out. Friend later told me he hated funerals and the next one he went to would be his own. I attended it some years later. I miss him.

Monarch larvae eat milkweed plants that contain chemicals poisonous to birds and other predators. Because of these chemicals, monarchs taste bad when they are eaten by an animal. The animal becomes ill, vomits and learns to avoid this butterfly or others that look similar.

So it’s doubtful anything will “absorb his energy”…..
