Actually it wasn’t the lava that killed the people in Pompeii. It was the pyroclastic flow ash and gases released by Mt. Vesuvius.

I think the colorist should have made the lava red…..that looks like …well, you know.

Despite what they show on the Amazon Alexa TV commercial, if you asked a Roman resident of Pompeii what year it is during the eruption, the Roman would not have replied “79 A.D.” The Roman might have said, “The year 831 from the founding of Rome.” (In Latin, of course.)
