Some of the best animation seen on TV are commercials. They look so good that I’d wish they would spin it out to a real TV show. LEGOS has done that with some of their “universes” just none that I’ve been interested in.
Back in the 80s, most cartoons were used to promote toy lines, celebrities and video games. It wasn’t until 1987 when Disney made DuckTales that people realized that cartoons could be more than just half hour commercials.
Oh, if we only knew back in the 80’s that all these toys would be worth money at some point in the future. Might have been a little more careful with them. Then again, it’s more than likely we wouldn’t have either…..
Brilliant work here, as always—though growing up I never, ever met a kid who would have insisted on keeping his He-Man or Skeleton action figure in the box!

And he’d have gotten away with it too, if it weren’t for those meddlesome kids.

Oh! no! Is Miles going to save that thing for 25 years, and then try to sell it for some astronomical sum?? Whatever happened to Cabbage Patch Dolls?

Netflix has a great documentary series on the history of various toy lines, including Masters of the Universe.

Sword of Dominance doesn’t really sound like a hero’s sword.
