Yeah land on that big orange pillow, he’s not doing anything but napping on the job anyway. Serve him right.

No! No! Don’t jump, Ollie!

If I had not already decided to name my new kitten (and avatar) Oliver after the cute little kitten we all know and love here, I’d be naming him Bullet. That little son of a gun is FAST!!! Three times yesterday, he slipped out the back door under my feet before I could stop him. The first time that he slipped out, I didn’t even see him get out. I only allow a few of my cats outside into my fenced yard. Some don’t even ask to get out. Others, like Heathcliff, get scared when they get outside, so I just keep them inside. Then there’s Felix, who keeps climbing over the fence, so I won’t allow him out anymore. That was how I lost his brother, Tigger, for 4 agonizing months a few years ago. I don’t want Oliver outside because he’s so little, I’d lose him in the peony bed or the lilacs or something. And he’s small enough to squeeze through the fence. I don’t want to lose him so he has to stay inside. I seldom see Oliver walk anyplace – he always runs. I’m afraid to pick up my feet when I walk through the house because I’m afraid of him running under my feet. I’ve already tripped over him once. So, I shuffle my feet when I walk around so I can’t accidentally step on him. While his name is to remain Oliver, for now at least, his nickname is Bullet.

One week of my two week vacation is done. Seven more days to go. Surprisingly, it has not felt like the past week has gone unusually fast (but I bet this week will). But the longer I’m on vacation, the more I’m loving it and the more I don’t want to go back to work at least for another few weeks.

They is no elevator.

I shuffle and slide my feet in the kitten room just because of that – those little devils are FAST! And, one of them seems to like my feet and wants to sit on my foot.

That’s right, Oliver, you just land on the furry orange pillow.

On YouTube you can see video of a cat leaping off the top of a telephone pole and hitting the ground running. Outdoor cats develop incredible muscle tone.

Finally! Chesney will be good for something.

Too bad Oliver doesn’t have a parachute. Hopefully, that big orange pillow will break his fall. On another note, saw a rabbit, a wren, and a dragonfly while out walking today.

I always love Graham’s birds! He makes them seem so real, yet funny.
