I got as far as learning to play the radio, and later the cassette and MP3. The result are awesome, but it feels like cheating.

I couldn’t do any of those on a keyboard the best day of my life.

If you could be good at drawing or good at the piano, we are glad you chose drawing. (We probably would never have heard you play piano)

Played (or should I say “TRIED” to play the piano) when I was growing up. Also TRIED playing the guitar, violin, clarinet and others I can’t even remember. The one I wish I would have stuck with is the violin. I’m impressed that you were able to play the piano into adulthood. Do you still play?

Oh, so comforting to know that others tried and couldn’t play the piano or whatever the instrument of the day was. All of the musical talent was used up by the family before I came along. Today, I play ‘audience’ and ‘checkbook’. Both greatly appreciated by real musicians.

Started piano 60 years ago (yikes: how did that much time pass?!), pipe organ (and anything else with a keyboard), guitar and bass guitar, 5 string banjo, trombone, trumpet, etc. I can get musical sounds out of my mother’s alto sax, but nary a squeak, squak or other sound from her bassoon reed. Currently the most fun comes from playing my melodica and the cat-face-shaped keyboard (that meows) that I bought at Target a few years ago!

Playing instruments has always been like magic to me. I tried playing guitar but couldn’t get the hang of it. My older brother got all the musical talent in our family. He has played mandolin in several blue grass bands. Has several CDs out. If you go to YouTube and look up Scotia Road you can hear him play.
