    I get the sense my cockatiel doesn’t eat when I’m not around. She is always sitting where she can see my car when I get home. She gets excited when she sees me and starts gobbling food like she hasn’t eaten for days. (No, I’m never gone more than a couple of hours)

    On the other hand, I can be gone for hours and my cats will still be where I left them. They’ll look up at me as if to say, “Oh? Were you gone?”

    I really sympathize with the dog. Time runs faster for them then it does for us. Our lives are FAR LONGER than theirs.
