Was at the L word yesterday. Asked where I could find the Hot Glue Guns. She pointed to the shelf behind me. She didnāt know the difference between a HOT AIR GUN and a HOT GLUE GUN. Sheesh!
Right after reading this thread, I called H-D to ask about a special order I placed in the store. I called the 800 number, went thru about 7 prompts. Had to go thru another 6 prompts. Got the one I needed. Pressed it. Dead air. Did that twice. I gave up.
Once in a while Iāll go to a Marshallās or Home Goods and run into an employee totally clueless of where the merchandise is located. At Ross I more than occasionally encounter an employee who doesnāt speak English. Maybe OK for a small mom and pop store in the local hood, but not for a chain franchise in a major mall.
Our local HD is now on Google Maps ā they mapped out the INSIDE of the store so you can look on your phone to find the aisle (Clearly labeled with what is in it) you need to look in. I donāt know if thatās scary or clever but if they change the store around like WM always did, I canāt see it working for long.

They didnāt check his depth of product knowledge before hiring him? They didnāt train him on the products they sell when they hired him?

Where would you find door mats? How about in front of the door? Duh.

Hey, what I donāt know would fill a book. Norman doesnāt try to fake it. He is honest and straightforward. Gotta love him for that.
