In fact, back when Cheney and Rove ran the White House, it was possible to predict how Dubya would be told to act in any situation. As follows:
1: Does it further enrich the folks who paid to have him elected? The answer is “do it”
2: If that’s not relevant, does it further enrich Dubya’s “oil pals”? The answer is “do it”.
3: If that’s not relevant, does it further enrich other Republican major donors? Then do it.
4: If that’s not possible, does it make Dubya look or feel good? Probably do it.
5: Otherwise don’t do it.
It’s the contractors we hear crying about Afghanistan, no more money.
And all the other war profiteer leaches.
War is highly profitable hell.
