The bit with the little girl holding her donut away from the chicken reminded me of how much as a kid I loved those big Sunday panels with ton of tiny gags scattered around.

Years ago, Hardee’s restaurants ran a Sunday special: All the biscuits and gravy you can eat for $1 and change. A large student of mine told me one Monday: “That isn’t true! They cut me off after 11 servings!”

…only 20? I would’ve thought they’d cut him off sooner than that.

This is vacation week for us. We have a day trip planned to Arbor Lodge in Nebraska City, home of Arbor Day. They have warm apple donuts, fresh apple turnovers and of course cider and lot and lots of apples.
