Mom & Dad visited me once in Texas, and we walked around the beach in Galveston. Mom was still talking at this time. We hunted for sand dollars and other shells, and nobody found an intact one, except Mom. I pointed out that this one was inhabited by a hermit crab.
Mom blinked at me, then said “Let’s kill it and steal its shell!”

Sure. Tell Kevin that it IS a piñata and maybe he’ll hold it while Beni smashes it!

Ho-hum Memory, Alice. Luckily, Beni does not have his hammer with him today. Kevin, go back to daydreaming and stay out of this Conch Shell Problem….

Conchs have been used to produce sound like a horn; but Alice’s is more like a maraca.
