Looks like the parents need to take a class in “self-esteem”.

All young children are self-centered and demanding of attention, it’s called “survival instinct”.

Kid, in order to pass the course, you need to sign those yourself!

Too much of a good thing.

There was a time when the “thing” in parenting was to never let your child fail. Everybody wins and everybody got a trophy for signing up for the team.

The lesson was that the child did not have to accomplish anything to earn a reward; they were entitled to it.

And then they got out in the real world and are disappointed when they find out that it does not owe them a living. Some adapted while others continue the fantasy of “That must not be true, because I don’t like it. Somebody else is to blame for things not going my way.”

I can’t blame the kid in the cartoon for calling his parents, “peons.” Name calling and disrespect for other people has become an accepted means of communications over the past 5 or 6 years.

I love how their glasses can stay on without nose pieces. Cartoon physics at its finest.

You “trained” him or not, now you reap what you have sown!

Hey kid ! How doe’s Military School sound ? Huh ?

Come here kid . . . I got a different kind of lesson for you . . .

Unfortunately, there are many parents who would allow that comment to “slide.” Doesn’t help that tv is full of shows where the kids are usually smarter than their clueless parents and the children usually talk disrespectful. Thank you Hollywood for the way you’ve enriched our culture.

What’s it worth to you?

Most of the job of raising children is to bring to them the unwelcome news that there are others on the planet besides themselves. Giving little kids self-esteem training is like pouring gasoline on a fire.

I want to proudly proclaim that I found this comic funny.
