No sense yelling fore! If that ball’s going to hit someone it will do so before the warning gets there. Even before the sound of the club hitting the ball gets there.
I remember way back in the 50’s, I used to go outside and hear jets breaking the sound barrier all the time. They eventually stopped doing that a long time ago, but hey… I still miss it.
They need to invent par-10s or par-100s, or whatever, for this kind of player. Also, wonder if that ball survived the shot – and re-entry into the earth’s atmoshere!
One of the first times Grog tried golf, he held the club by the head, hit the ball with the grip, and completed the shot with the lowest orbit ever recorded.
Why didn’t the boom happen in the first panel? The ball couldn’t speed up after he hit it, and besides, the club must also have broken the sound barrier. Yeah, I know- cartoon physics.
Lets check the rules? Does a ball that was tee off at Hualalai Golf Club in Hawaii, still count if in lands on the green at the Eagle Lakes Golf Club in Naples Florida??? Just asking!!!
This reminds me of the opening scene in the MASH TV pilot episode where Trapper hits the ball and it lands in the mine field, then you hear a BOOM!! Of course he yells: Fore!! afterwards lol
How fast can a golf ball go before it starts breaking up? We hit a golf ball on the moon, so what happens if you hit one outside the International Space Station?
FYI: If someone could hit a golf ball hard enough to break the sound barrier, the sonic boom would occur the moment it left the club head not down range. You can only hear sonic booms of air craft only after they have pass over head. People down range would hear the sonic boom of the golf ball as it passed them until air friction slowed it down.

Maybe he hit a white Toyota full of Afghan school children and called them terrorists. Happens all the time these days.

I haven’t heard a sonic boom in years. I miss it. It was like thunder without the rain.

If Grog is hitting that long, he is going to need a whole lot of backspin to walk the ball two miles back to the green.

Lose a lot of balls with that swing, I would think……

Sorry, bub, the bubble should point straight up. At least that’s where the shock wave sound came from in the ’50s.

Fortunately only one of him was made before the project stopped it. Too much they said.
