Yes. It is a good thing you’re prisoners of a constitutional democracy with a commitment to human rights and rule of law. Because otherwise you’d be subject to far worse kind of torture both during and after interrogation, torture so worse that I may not be even allowed to say what all they’d do to you here and no human rights organisations would even care.
All prisoners should all be let free as long as they promise to not do whatever they did again. In fact, let’s take in criminals from other countries (We surely won’t have to background checks because people of other countries are all better than any American.)
And stealing should not be a crime, because if you need something … or just even want something, you should be able to have it.
And thank goodness we never did hold the people accountable who instigated the torture of prisoners, and operated black sites, and opened a prison where people could be held for decades without having any formal charges brought against them. Our country would have been so much better off if we had, so thank Nancy Pelosi she decided to forego using the power of the House of Representatives to operate as a check on an all-powerful Executive Branch.

And the worst part? The jailhouse kitchen never puts gazpacho on the menu.

Now, let’s not bring the ugly specter of politics into our light-hearted laffs over someone else being tortured!

Love the mask Dinkle is wearing in the second panel.

Are those stink lines rising off the two prisoners in the third panel, or are their backs just hurting? My feeling is that yes, they are.

They are in pre-trial holding. Perry Mason was in court in 3 weeks. Now, some are in jail 3 years before trial.
