Not hard to understand. I have been vaccinated. It was MY choice. It is none of the employer’s business.

I’m curious why the Govt. & other health advocates avoid talking about people who survived COVID-19 …now having natural immunity; are being forced to take a “MMR”vaccine shots? Which in my opinion might be detrimental to their overall health. Yeah..had the Pfizer Vaccine 2-fer..and I’m due for booster..Ouch! ;^)

I’ll admit I’m curious about how this storyline will play out: will Jan get the vaccine, or will she leave her job?

I’m surprised after 20 months of pandemic that Jan hasn’t responsibly gotten her shots, especially in a shared house with elderly and a child.

Maybe I’m getting tripped up on the meaning of “forced”.

I take “forced” to mean you literally have no other options but to do that thing: someone physically restrains you, for example, and gives you a shot, or a wedgie, or a kiss, for that matter.

I feel that, as long as you have at least one other option, no matter how undesirable it is, that makes it a “choice”.

Is the bank “forcing” you to pay your mortgage? No, they are not holding you down and taking the money from your wallet. You have a choice: pay the mortgage you agreed to when you signed it, or lose the house—AND all the money you already put into it.

Is XYZ Corporation “forcing” you to come to work on time everyday? No, they are not coming to your home and physically dragging you to work. You have a choice: come to work like you agreed to when you were hired, or lose the job.

I admit that the COVID vaccine is different, in that it didn’t exist when most of us were hired, and so we never agreed to it as a condition of employment. Still, companies add to or change their rules all the time, and every time, employees are faced with the choice: abide by this new rule, or leave the job.

My nephew and his wife were very much anti vaccine and thought the whole COVD thing was over blown. Guess what, they both got it. They are slowly getting over it but it definitely changed their perspective of it.

The other day a friend of mine said that she did not want to get the vaccine. I asked why, not to argue but just to hear her reason. She said that the vaccine will alter your DNA. I said nothing and started talking to someone else. What can you say that won’t produce more idiocy?

Yesterday I had a doctor’s appointment and shared that conversation with the nurse that took my BP and later with the doctor. Both of them just rolled their eyes and asked where these ideas come from. But we knew where, unfortunately.

If there weren’t lots of people willing to do what they know better than, there wouldn’t be the drug trade, drunk driving deaths, or tobacco-caused cancer that there is. Knowledge and wisdom are only distant cousins.
