I’m 60 and I expect the PC police to show up anytime now. I’ll still say “That chick at the store”. And I’m referring to a 40 year old woman AND my wife will know who I’m talking about. I don’t use it in a mean way, more like “What’s her name”. Still I’ll probably get life at hard labor from the PC police if they catch me. The best I can hope for is time served.
Some are asking why the term chick is offensive. It seems like it’s a matter of context. If I walked up to a lady I did not know, I could begin, “Excuse me ma’am…” Or I could say, “Hey chick…” It seems the latter to be a bit disrespectful. It it’s between friends, well, you know your friends and they would handle it well otherwise you wouldn’t use it (hopefully).

Who was talking to you, or about you, Capt’n Buttinsky. Go peddle your own papers, or piddle your own papers. Whatever.

Apparently I missed the memo. How, exactly, is the word “chicks” supposedly derogatory towards women?

I don’t mind being called a “chick”. It implies young and cute…
